Generally speaking, Australia remained long enough untouched by humans. Thus Canberra was born.īeing so young, this on purpose built capital is of course relatively small compared to Sydney (~5 millions) it has less than 12 times inhabitants (~400.000) and it’s only the 8th Australian largest city, which is already quite funny for a capital! Simply, a new city was going to be built somewhere between Melbourne and Sydney and it was going to become the capital. Because of indecision and to make nobody angry (or maybe exactly with this intent) a compromise was reached. The dispute was between Melbourne and Sydney which were (and probably still are) the most important cities. Actually, it was planned and built only a bit more than 100 years ago, when Australia still didn’t have a capital and one had to be chosen. “Hell yeah! I know it was Syd…no wait, Can-what?”Ĭanberra is a city somewhere in the south-est, “not so far away” from Melbourne and Sidney. The major export of Aust….yeah ok, I’m getting bored of myself alread, let’s talk about some unusual things instead!įirst thing first! The capital of Australia is…*drumrolls*…Canberra! It consists of the mainland, the island of Tasmania and a huge amount of other small islands. So Australia, a big land somewhere in the south hemisphere. But today we are gonna learn something more about this awesome continent. That was more or less all the knowledge I had of Australia till a while ago.
So actually, what do you know about Australia? Think about it, what do you know about this large, dry and hot continent? In fact, it barely makes it in the news excluding during new year’s eve, when as one of the first continent to enter the new year, its celebrations and fireworks are showed, I can’t reckon last time I heard news Australia related. This is a must see only for fans of the book and the leading actor.Australia, the enormous island-continent that we all know. Children are not going to be interested in this story anymore, it's not as sophisticated as kids would expect it to be.

Having seen short clips of the movie recently, I can see its age, and what it brings is a different demographic. While "Akademia" is not as good as the book itself, it still is a fun, family fare. I loved the book and Piotr Fronczewski was always one of my favourite actors. I've seen this movie years ago, as a child. The movie is a children story however it is actually quite good Science Fiction Still to understand it you need to watch the whole Trylogy: "Akademia Pana Kleksa" "Podróże Pana Kleksa" "Pan Kleks w kosmosie" Not based on a book (only a movie story) of course the original ending is the "Tryumf Pana Kleksa" which is however done in a different style !Īkademia is just the beginning of the adventures of Mr Kleks and introduces as more to the world are extraordinary researcher lives it is also the only movie which explains to us What is Mr Kleks real form (Cause he's not a human but just a magical object created by the legendary Chinese philosopher Paichiwo) so hows that? This story can rival with Anime ! "Akademia Pana Kleksa" Not sophisticated no no it has everything children in modern days like for example we have here a character named Alojzy Bąbel who is an android. So, all doubts aside, go for it and enjoy!
Now talk about individual isolation in modern society, as they call it. Moreover, films like "Akademia" can give you and your kids something else, something which the newest blockbusters lack - these films convey a sense of an inward harmony, can teach you positive thinking and making (and keeping) friends. They watch with sheer pleasure movies which were made back in the 1980-s, and 1970-s. Who said that kids nowadays are only into sophisticated things? Nah. Although the FX seem somewhat outdated, they're still quite amazing besides, the combination of living actors and cartoon characters is a thrilling experience for kids. This movie is definitely worth watching and worth showing to your children. I wasn't going to post my own comment, but after reading Jibrielle's thoughts, I decided she was a bit too stringent in her opinions.
